Kelly was the director of Simone Subal Gallery in New York City. Throughout her 6 year tenure, she recruited new and promising artists to the gallery, many of whom have since won prestigious awards in Europe and America, and had their works shown in and acquired by institutions such as MoMA, New York; LACMA, Los Angeles; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn; MOCA, Los Angeles; and Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin. Kelly curated numerous solo and group exhibitions as well as art fair presentations in the US and abroad. She also co-founded and co-directed an exhibition space in New York to supply emerging artists with audiences for talks, screenings, performances, and readings. Today Kelly’s work draws upon her expertise as well as relationships she has cultivated with collectors, museum directors, art critics, gallerists, and artists. Kelly McGee was born in Los Angeles and holds a BA from Vassar College.
